AF2010 Soho by alaMood

Jori Watler of alaMood debuts her new Soho necklace and earrings at the Accessory Fair 2010 which opened today! I’m in love with the organic shape of the onyx framed in silver and the heavy feel of the chain.  These pieces really stand out when paired with your favorite little black dress. Or wear them with a cropped leather jacket and boots to make a statement.  And, I should probably mention that Soho is available in ELEVEN color options. That’s right. ELEVEN stones to choose from.  I might never have to wear another piece of jewelry again. *dies* (okay, well, one of the color options is actually a group gift…just one more reason to be in the group!)

You can find alaMood at Booth 52.  You might want to hurry over there now.

Jori Watler’s latest release, Mora Gabby, is exactly my style.  Truth be told, I’m hard-pressed to find a single piece from alaMood that I don’t fall in love with immediately.  But this one…this one is so versatile, and the textures are so spot-on, it is definitely my favorite.

With stones of amber and tigers eye, the Mora Gabby set is comprised of 3 pieces, each with dual attachment points.  There is the necklace and ring, both of which I’m wearing in these photos, and a lovely, chunky cuff bracelet.  You can find all of the pieces at alaMood on Fusion.

I’m also wearing one of Truth’s latest hair releases, Eve in Coffee, Sienna skin in Tinsel by Exodi and the Tuli dress by Elate in Chocolate.  Polaroid frames created in-world with the FilterCam HUD by MechanizedLife.

Exclusive: Rouge “Dream” Ensemble by ala Mood
Nov 19th, 2009 by Gabby Panacek

Jori Watler has always been a great friend to Codie and I. She is, simply, family. So, when she offered to create an exclusive Rouge version of her gorgeous “Dream” Ensemble, we were over-the-moon excited, but not at all surprised by her generosity.

Sneak Peek: Sienna By Exodi
Nov 3rd, 2009 by Gabby Panacek

Few skins make me want to lounge around half-naked like those from Exodi. But Sienna, Ryker Beck’s fifth line this year (and very likely the last for 2009) is definitely lingerie-worthy. So much so, in fact, I invited Jori over to strip down with me.

Sienna will be released November 5th and comes with a whole host of options. Choose dark brows or light, freckles and cleavage enhancement. There are a whopping 16 makeups to choose from, each in a dark and light version. So, if we add all that up, there are 8 skins in each single makeup purchase and 128 skins in the fatpack. That’s right. One hundred twenty eight! I actually had to count them in my inventory because I was convinced my math was incorrect. Sienna will be available in four skin tones. In all of these pictures I am wearing the Vivante tone with freckles and the dark makeup option. And in the photo above, Jori is wearing the Soleil tone in Snow.

Did Someone Say My Name?
Sep 8th, 2009 by Gabby Panacek

I think it’s really a neat thing when designers name their products after a friend or acquaintance. It just seems to give the item its own personality, in a way. So, this blog post, if you you allow me to indulge in a little vanity,  is a tribute to three designers I’m proud to know and who have named items for me.

Gabby

Truth Hawks is notorious for naming his hairstyles after his friends and in his release last week, he named a hair after me. *faints* I don’t know Truth all that well, but I’m addicted to his hair and, via plurk, I’ve come to admire his wit, intellect and candor. And this hairstyle is gorgeous, don’t you think? Thank you so much, Truth!

Annah Whitfield, the brilliant woman behind StoRin, is quite possibly one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. We met while shopping for hair with Codie and before long the three of us were doing more chatting than talking. When she surprised me with the lovely outfit shown here, I was blown away. Words can’t express how honored I was, and still am, that she created this design with me in mind.

Hibiscus Flossberg of Puarangi Designs is also a plurk friend, and an extremely talented jewelry designer. While shopping in her store one day, we discovered that we both really love big hoop earrings. I was shocked just a couple of days later when she presented me with huge gold hoops, all decked out with color-changing gemstones. The necklace I am wearing matches these earrings. Both the necklace and the earrings are beautiful and I couldn’t be happier that Hibi designed them for me!

For the finishing touches, I added a belt from Artilleri (part of the Eva dress), IXkin shoes from Maitreya Gold and a couple more bracelets I stole from Jori’s work room…she really is going to kill me if I keep wearing and posting stuff she hasn’t released yet. But, I can’t help it. The Jewelry Expo is still ten whole days away and I’m impatient!

Thank you so much, Truth, Ann and Hibi!

It All Started With A Simple Dare
Apr 26th, 2009 by Gabby Panacek

That’s right, one tiny little challenge has snowballed into THIS.  And what exactly is THIS? Come closer and I’ll let you in on all the fun…

While I sit, innocently minding my own business after a fun-filled day at the RFL Art Auction – over L$300K raised, by the way! – my dear friend Jori Watler pops up in my IM with a link to a photo and announces that her partner, the ever-charming Reacher Rau, has challenged her to wear this lovely outfit for a full week.  Knowing Jori’s taste in clothing, I knew she’d never go for it, but I took the bait anyway.  “I’ll match it if you let me drag you around to events all week.”  Jori’s reply, “TP me.”  Lo and behold, she is wearing the lovely ensemble seen below.  Not only will she wear this for the full week, she informs me, she will donate the funds to Eshi Otawara’s RFL team.  What a generous sport.  But wait! There’s more…

While shopping for the outfit, Jori was torn between the one she chose and another.  We have to take some pictures, she announces. And, off I go to pick up the second outfit.  When I came back wearing the delicious-looking fruitiness, an idea was formed.  Both Jori and I will parade the grid in our new and delightful ensembles – I agreed to participate when Jori anted up 10K of her own to the cause.  But…and this is a fantastic but…if we can gather 100K in donations to Team Eshi, all funds to benefit Relay For Life, we will ditch the fruit and flowers (and, yes, the bling…gawd yes, the bling!) and pose together wearing nothing but a smile…and maybe some smexy pumps.

So, open up your wallets fashion fans and we’ll treat you to a skin review the likes of which you’ve never seen!  Donation Kiosks have been placed on Night Flower and at Jori’s store on Fusion.  Give generously, give often, just give, give, give!
