Lately, I’m obsessed with SL Daily Deals. And, tomorrow’s offering is no exception. I’m on a bit of a boho kick, so when my good friend Rosie Barthelmess of Sable Rose Jewelry gave me a sneak peek of her SLDD items…I literally squealed with excitement. Isn’t this a gorgeous set?
So, here are all the details. The set I’m wearing in this photo is Rosie’s latest creation, which debuts tomorrow as part of SLDD, Boho Birdie. Accented with peacock feathers and turquoise, the set includes a necklace, earrings and three bracelet options. She’s also including her Isadora set and the Jael-Azure set, both with necklace, earrings and bracelets AND her brand new Patchwork bangles. You get all 4 sets for ONLY L$250!! That’s a huge discount off regular price, but you have to hurry! The SLDD event starts at 6am SLT and there are only 100 available at that price. Boho Birdie and Patchwork will be available at regular price after the event. So, set your alarms and hurry over to Sable Rose for this extraordinary deal!
SL Daily Deals features one content creator each day who offers a limited quantity of a select item at a discounted price and there are so many good deals to be had. But, you have to be quick as these specials often sell out. Check the SLDD website everyday to see what goodies are available!
You already know that I am a huge fan of the FilterCam HUD by MechanizedLife. I love anything that makes my life easier, and the FilterCam does just that by eliminating the need for post-processing my photos. Considering my very limited Photoshop skills, this tool is invaluable to me. This is a photo I took earlier this week and uploaded directly from in-world. I didn’t even have to crop it. All of the effects were provided by FilterCam and Windlight. What could be easier?
Now, we want to see how YOU use the FilterCam HUD, and we’re giving you some incentive. MechanizedLife is holding a FilterCam Photo Competition with support from the makers of the Avimote PoseMaker HUD. The prize packages total more than L$15,000 and everything you need to know to enter is listed below. Just be sure to get your entries in before the end of the month. And please, don’t hesitate to leave a comment here or drop me an IM in-world if you have any questions! Good Luck!

Ryker’s Tutorial for making your own filters
The Avimote PoseMaker HUD allows Second Life residents to pose their avatars in any position they like, right where they are, without the need for external tools. It can be used to override part of an existing pose, such as when a hand is stuck in a skirt, or to create complete new poses.
Stephanie is the latest skin from Exodi. Ryker Beck sent out her third and final pre-release gift skin to her group today called Hot Date. The entire line will be released on Valentine’s Day, so stay tuned.
I’m wearing Stephanie in the Panacek skin tone and the new Melissa Hair from Truth in Champagne. The frame is provided by FilterCam, of course, so there is no post-processing, just a quick crop. Happy Tuesday!
What a relaxing evening. Stretched out in a comfy chair, relaxing and daydreaming while Codie names her new turtles.
I really love the new Brooke skins from 5th & Oxford. Roslin and CJ have, once again, paid remarkable attention to the even the smallest details and Roslin’s experience as a makeup artist really comes through in this line. Here, I’m wearing the Kitty makeup, Number 4, in the Medium tone. I will have to show you more of the body at a later date…perhaps we’ll feature some lingerie since Valentine’s day will be here soon!
Also wearing, the Ebba Jeans and Fearne top from MichaMi, the new Joanna hair from Truth and my comfy petankos from Zero Number. I’m lounging on the Model Chair by Glitterati. Oh, and both photos were taken with the FilterCam HUD by MechanizedLife…just shoot and crop and tada! Instant framed photo!
Do you follow SL Daily Deals? You should! Each day, one creator will set aside a limited quantity of a select item at a discounted price and there are so many good deals to be had. But, you have to be quick as these specials often sell out.
Beginning at Midnight SLT and running all day on Wednesday, January 20, you can pick up the FilterCam HUD by MechanizedLife less than half price! But don’t wait, there are only 100 available at this price and they will go fast!
The FilterCam HUD is a great little gadget that allows you to add filters, masks, frames, tints and effects to your inworld snapshots…with no post-processing. I’ll post a couple of example photos here and you can find more on the FilterCam Flickr Group stream. Watch SLDD and head over to MechanizedLife for your FilterCam! This is the Polaroid Mask, that I just rotated and cropped.

…all of my troubles melted away.
On December 26, Samara Barzane issued a challenge: Share the three things in our inventory we couldn’t bear to part with. I’ve been thinking about it since, and I think I’ve finally come up with my three…sort of. So, without further ado…
1. Vetro Eyes by Exodi Specifically, Vetro in Blue, Large with Veins. I’ve always loved Ryker Beck’s eyes, going all the way back to her Genesis line, but these are the ones I consider to be “my” eyes. I may wear them in different colors periodically, but I almost always come back to blue, and I always come back to Vetro.
2. Truth Hair I’m cheating a little bit and not selecting a single hairstyle, because I love everything Truth Hawks has made, particularly his most recent releases. Full disclosure time. I haven’t always been a die-hard Truth fan. I spent my first several months in SL as a blonde and I just couldn’t find the blonde shade that I loved at Truth. But I kept trying because I liked the styles so much. Eventually, I gave in to Truth’s yummy brunette shades and I’ve never looked back. Ironically, though, it is Truth, with his new textures, that has led me back to my blonde roots. There are other hair designers whom I love: Lamb Bellic, Autumn Hykova, and Aemilia Case are at the top of the list, but I would indeed be lost without my collection of Truth.
3. FilterCam HUD by Mechanized Life In my inventory, you will find every incarnation of FilterCam ever created by CodeBastard Redgrave. Every. Single. One. And I still have the first photograph I took using the very first MachinimaCam Filter 0.11 on October 1, 2008. Since then, I’ve watched Codie shape the FilterCam from concept to release, through upgrade after upgrade, and there is no other single item in my inventory that gets as much screen time as the FilterCam. There are so many frames and effects to choose from, I rarely open Photoshop for anything more than a quick crop…and to make new masks! This is one gadget that you will have to pry from my cold, dead pixels.
There you have it, my Three Little Things. What’s on your list?
Annah Whitfield passed me a copy of her Patricia jacket before Christmas and I have finally found time to blog it. And I’m so glad that I did as it is simply gorgeous. As with all of the designs at StoRin, this jacket is very well made and I love the fact that it comes with a color-change belt. For this look, I chose to pair it with simple trousers, a bustier with some lovely details and I made the belt blue to pick up the stone in the necklace.
Style Notes: Jacket: Patricia by StoRin in Black Bustier: Kate by Rebel Hope (part of dress) Pants: Georgie Tapered Trousers by Whippet & Buck in Taupe Grey Necklace: Vinca by Rozoregalia Skin: Lily by Exodi in Panacek Hair: Grace by Truth in Barley Eyes: Vetro by Exodi in Blue Lashes: Beauty by Calla
Despite the fact that outside of SL, snow and heels are mutually exclusive, the new Legwarmers + Heels from Anexx put me in the mood to play in the snow. Listening to: Winter Song The comfy legwarmers come in two styles per color, a solid-color cable knit and a nordic-print knit. The sculpted shoe is very well-made with a slim heel and rounded toe. With the shoes, designer machang Pichot has also included knit tights in a variety of colors that can be worn with or without the shoes. The skin I’m wearing is the latest from GeEs Designs and is called Scandinavia. The ivory skin tone and cold-flushed cheeks are perfect for winter weather. I chose Roskilde for its pinkish eye shadow and lips, but there are a total of 10 makeup styles to choose from, each with options for gloss, pubic hair and cleavage. For more details, keep reading after the cut. Read the rest of this entry »
