More goodies from Accessory Fair 2010!
The Admira Necklace and Earrings by Sofi Trenkins of SIGMA Jewels is an exclusive AF2010 release. I love the way the gentle, leaf-like shape of the pendants lay against the neck. In addition to the Sea shade shown here, the set is available in four additional colors: Brown, Charcoal, Red and Purple, and in gold and silver options. Visit SIGMA Jewels at Booth 25.
Lucky Dice is one of the new necklaces by Sissi String of SiSSi available at the Fair. The necklace comes in both a male and female version and features layers of black beads with dangling dice and the Chinese symbol for Luck. I love the multiple strands and the prim-work of the dice. Be sure to stop in SiSSi’s booth, it’s Number 30.
For the clothing, I’ve chosen pieces from Phoenix Rising by Ashoka Eales. The black and white dress is Stacie’s Strength and comes with both a skirt and pants version, there is also a jacket and prim belt option included. In the second photo, I chose two of Ashoka’s latest releases, the Bree Jacket in Plum and the Medium Wash Boyfriend Jeans. And, to finish it off, I layered the jacket over the most-worn item in my inventory, MichaMi’s GlamTank in White. My hair is by Truth and fri.day, respectively.
For her contributions to the Accessory Fair 2010, AtomicBambi has drawn inspiration from The Great White Way. Miss Saigon is a beautiful headpiece with colorful butterflies, Masquerade (oh, how I love The Phantom Of The Opera) is a gorgeous, bejeweled mask and Wicked, which I’ve chosen to photograph. I’m absolutely obsessed these days with the musical of the same name, so it only follows that this would be my favorite of the collection. You can find AtomicBambi at Booth 10.
Phobia is a new-to-me store with designs by Mystical Trefoil. With three new releases for Accessory Fair 2010, you will definitely want to stop by and take a look at the styles available. Here, I’ve chosen to feature the Full Facial piercing with Stars and the Diamond Key necklace. Both are very well made and the piercing features 62 color change options. Phobia is located at Booth 62.
Jori Watler of alaMood debuts her new Soho necklace and earrings at the Accessory Fair 2010 which opened today! I’m in love with the organic shape of the onyx framed in silver and the heavy feel of the chain. These pieces really stand out when paired with your favorite little black dress. Or wear them with a cropped leather jacket and boots to make a statement. And, I should probably mention that Soho is available in ELEVEN color options. That’s right. ELEVEN stones to choose from. I might never have to wear another piece of jewelry again. *dies* (okay, well, one of the color options is actually a group gift…just one more reason to be in the group!)
You can find alaMood at Booth 52. You might want to hurry over there now.
Accessory Fair 2010 starts March 6, 2010 and features the grid’s best jewelry and accessory designers…and a full schedule of events! Here are just a couple of fun, new releases you can look forward to.
Royally Flushed is a poker themed necklace and mouth attachment being released exclusively at the Fair and is jam packed with features. Created by Lacie Chambers of LacieCakes, Royally Flushed features the Evolve HUD which allows you to change the metal, gemstone and color of the necklace. There are so many options to choose from you can create literally hundreds of combinations. Click on the “Money! Money! Money!” NomNom and choose from several fun chat sayings. I love the layered necklace look. Seriously, give me a neck full of chains and I am a happy girl!
Melatonin Hax of Split Pea will have several fun, and sometimes feathery, hats, masks, headbands…even panda and wolf feet!…available at the Fair. The I Told Lies To Your Family Mask (to hold), which you see here, is Melatonin’s contribution to the Relay For Life fundraiser that is the epicenter of the Accessory Fair. And really, who doesn’t need more masks and feathers? I know I’ll be stocking up on all of them!

Jori Watler has always been a great friend to Codie and I. She is, simply, family. So, when she offered to create an exclusive Rouge version of her gorgeous “Dream” Ensemble, we were over-the-moon excited, but not at all surprised by her generosity. The “Dream” Rouge Ensemble includes necklace, rings, cuffs – and as an added incentive – the matching earrings. The only place this set is available is at the Rouge Boutique and 50% of the proceeds benefit the Rouge Tiers fund.
The Rouge sim is owned by CodeBastard Redgrave and was designed and built by Eshi Otawara. Rouge is home to the CodeRed Lounge, Boudoir Rouge Gallery Walk, Rouge Boutique and the Mechanized Life main store.
Designers, interested in the Rouge Affiliate Program? Contact me for more information about offering your items in the Rouge Boutique. Many thanks to Jori for her continued friendship and patronage. Visit ala Mood for more of Jori’s amazing designs.
caLLie cLine is ready for the holidays and her Winter Magic build on the Stereo Vogue sim is proof.
Codie and I explored the sim, and all of its glittery goodness, over the weekend and it really is gorgeous. What’s more, it is filled with snowy plants, trees, gems, candy canes and stockings that you can purchase to decorate your own winter wonderland. Pieces are as low as L$25 each and are infused with Callie’s usual whimsical style.
My favorite items, so far, are the Happy Head Antlers. They are available in three styles, each with color change gemstones. I particularly love the style I am wearing here as it is all decked out with candy canes and stockings. You can find all three at the caLLie cLine mainstore, as well as at Winter Magic.
Be sure to visit Winter Magic and catch some holiday spirit of your own!

In November 2008, California amended the state constitution to ban same-sex marriages. Shortly thereafter, a silent, but viral, grassroots movement took hold and the NOH8 Campaign was born. It wasn’t long before this powerful, yet peaceful, protest made its way to Second Life.
From the NOH8 SL website:
What Is NOH8 SL? NOH8 SL™ is a photography project started by Trace Osterham in Second Life™, in support of Adam Bouska’s real life anti-Proposition 8 campaign. Photos of nearly 350 avatars have been taken for the cause, and will be shown at an in-world gallery.
The NOH8 Gallery is now open on the Cupcakes Sim. There you will find a display of the photographs Trace has taken. There is also a photo studio where you can take your own NOH8 photo and upload it to the NOH8 on SL Flickr Group, founded by Francois Ghost.
Visit the gallery and lend your voice, your face, to the campaign for equal rights for every couple, regardless of gender. Because, in the end, it’s all about love.
I am proud to take part in this campaign and I want to publicly thank Trace for the stunning photograph. I hope you will all join the hundreds of us who have taken up the cause. Please read more about the RL NO H8 Campaign here.
This evening I had the pleasure of attending (yes, in all my fruity glory) the Pre-Launch party for the Fashion Designer’s Challenge. This event, the brainchild of Samsara Nishi, features 35 of Second Life’s most talented designers and requires them to work collaboratively to create clothing, skin, hair and shoes that are, perhaps, outside their usual style. The event opens to the public on May 5 with a fashion show of all of the designs. Make your plans to attend now, you don’t want to miss this.
“For a long time I’ve wishing to explore more deeply the collaboration aspect of SL, and I was also so curious about how it would be to organize such a thing… Finally I found a funny way to do it: usualy fashion designers, including me, work alone, all by themselves… well… what if they could influence each other to create? So I decided to invite other fashion designers to join me to be challenging each other to explore our creative minds by practicing our design abilities on the fly!” says Samsara Nishi.
I was blown away by the creativity and unique styles created by these uber-talented designers, so without further ado, let me share with you some of my favorites…and truth be told, it was incredibly hard to choose, there were so many, many well crafted, well thought out designs. For the next five days, March 18th through March 22nd, five of Second Life’s most renowned and talented jewelry designers present for you a very special trunk show: The Armoire. Candy Cerveau of Eye Candy, Caliah Lyon of Muse, Violet Voltaire of Violet Voltaire, Kesseret Steeplechase of Kess Kreations, and Saiyge Lotus of Balderdash have each created living dioramas to showcase the mood and theme of their collections. These unique exhibits are hidden in a mystical labyrinth with a shopping pavilion nestled in its core.
So what makes this jewelry showcase different than any other? Its designed to be interactive. The jewelry will be displayed by live models positioned in each diorama and visitors are encouraged to join in the Journeyman’s Quest to collect gemstones that will lead them to spectacular qifts, including some limited edition items. Here’s a bit of information about the quest as it was shared with me:
You are a journeyman jeweler newly learning your trade. You have traveled to a magical labyrinth where you’ve heard you can perfect your skills with some of the finest jewelers in the land. You’ve been given a jewelry box to collect gems for your creations, and in the labyrinth, your task is to seek those magical gems. Collect six of each color to gain a Key of Knowledge that opens magical chests — do they hold the knowledge that you seek? Open the chests of silver and gold, and your quest for the Master’s exemplary jewelry is complete.
Take this magic carpet to the event site and begin your own quest. Keep reading for more information and photos of some of the designs that are featured. Read the rest of this entry »
