I’m sure by now you’ve seen lots of press about coldLogic, the new brand from Damien Fate, Zyrra Falcone and Janie Marlowe. In fact, I blogged about it here. Today is opening day and there are so many fantastic styles to choose from! I’ve been scouring the marketplace and picking up demos before heading to the store…and it is pretty much a given that I’ll buy out the place. I just can’t pick a favorite. The coldLogic team did send me a little sample pack, though, and this pretty little number caught my eye.

I love all the little details, like the tab on the side and the zipper detailing at the back and, as Gogo points out in her blog, the slightly distressed sole. These are the little things that bring SL fashions to life and add just the right amount of realism…

On the opposite end of the reality spectrum, the new Bloom dolls by Emma Gilmour of Surf Co. have made a huge splash! With their over-sized heads and tiny puckered lips, they are just too adorable for words and, for me, add just the touch of whimsy my Second Life has been lacking recently. Tya Fallingbridge of Pixel Mode, not only created the four-sim Shoe Fair build (it is clean, simple and gorgeous, by the way) she also created Fae, the summery wrapped wedge I’m wearing here. I love the PM HUD that is included for matching skin tone and selecting nail colors as it is very easy to use. And there is a notecard included with RGB values for most skin brands, so getting the right tone is a snap! Each pair includes both light and dark wood options on the wedge heel and bead detail.

Curio May in Sundust, Exodi Sylvan in Cafe, Glam Affair Layla in MedTan, all on my personal shape.

I fully admit to being a skin whore and as much as I love collecting skin from all over the grid, there are a few brands I always come back to. They just feel like “me”.   And my shape, well, apart some tweaking here and there, it’s the same since my first month in-world.

It is the combination of skin and shape that gives avatars their “it” factor. Which is why I love the Skin & Shape Expo taking place now through May 20, 2011. Skinners and shape makers from all over the grid gathered together to display all of their newest creations. I picked up three skins, one from my beloved Exodi, one from tried & true Curio, and one from a new favorite, Glam Affair. I’ve paired them with shapes from two Expo participants, Savior Faire and Amacci. I’ve lined them up so you can see how the shapes and skins work together to create four distinct personalities.

I wanted to blog something formal and there are few occasions more formal than a wedding! Here are two dresses from Miamai‘s Wedding Collection 2011.

Emma has a bit of a silver undertone and is long and flowing, with a scattering of crystals rising from the skirt hem.  The bodice is adorned with crystal brooches that echo the headpiece.

Sabine is bright white with puffed, capped sleeves and a full, ankle-length tulle skirt which, along with the short glove length, gives it an almost-retro feel.

I had fun putting this together. I knew I wanted to wear the new boots from Gos. LOVE THESE BOOTS! And I wanted a fluffy skirt. Whenever I need a skirt, I immediately look to So Many Styles. Irie Campese has such a great range of styles, I always find just what I’m looking for…and usually a few other things.  I spotted the bag, by rbcg, on Irie’s blog and had to have it!

I’ve used poses from Di’s Opera, by Di Hoorenbeek, for this post and the last. This is a new-to-me store I found while drooling over reading Strawberry Singh’s blog. I really like the range of interesting poses available. (And they all fit my long arms!)

Nothing says indigo like a great pair of jeans and the 1929 Cigarettes from {mon tissu} are my current favorites. I’ve paired them with a couple of special releases. The Wanderer Boots from Tiny Bird are only L$50 this weekend…so cute and casual! And, :: MOOD :: has an exclusive Sapphire version of the Siddean collection available through Friday at Chic Boutique. This ensemble features a choker, earrings, cuff and cocktail ring – all for L$ 90. What a steal!
