The time has come to let you know about the official Hair Fair 2011 Flickr contest! This is a super popular part of the Hair Fair event that we run every year and it’s the perfect place to show off your favorite hair and your incredible creativity! For a full list of rules please see the Flickr group here. The group is open for joining now, but uploads are disabled until May 23rd. To donate a prize you only need to fill in the info on a notecard to Ashia Tomsen, listing what you will provide to the winner once the contest is over. The winners will then contact you to receive their prizes after the event, no items need be passsed prior to that, other than a notecard with the intent to give.

I love all the little details, like the tab on the side and the zipper detailing at the back and, as Gogo points out in her blog, the slightly distressed sole. These are the little things that bring SL fashions to life and add just the right amount of realism…

On the opposite end of the reality spectrum, the new Bloom dolls by Emma Gilmour of Surf Co. have made a huge splash! With their over-sized heads and tiny puckered lips, they are just too adorable for words and, for me, add just the touch of whimsy my Second Life has been lacking recently. Expect to see more of Gooby Bloom, as Turnip has renamed her, because I am having the best time dressing her up. Be sure to check out the Bloom Flickr Group and enter the Bloom Photo Contest!

Katey Coppola plurked this morning to remind us that the HUGE sale at Nayar ends June 1st. You might choose to pick up one of these adorable Katey Kinis. I’m sort of partial to red, so the Ladybug version is my favorite.  For the sunglasses, I turned to Strawberry Singh, who had recently plurked her post about Mojoti Eyewear. These are really well made and there are a ton of options! So, bikini? Check. Sunglasses? Check. Now, where to shoot? I plurked a request for beachy sims and Myndi Meredith suggested Sol Mananero. And WOW! What a gorgeous setting. You can expect to see lots of beachy photos from me for a while, I plan to camp here for the summer.

3rd Prize – L$1000 + Avimote PoseMaker Personal Edition (L$2450 value)

Rules

• All entries must originate in Second Life and must be created using the FilterCam HUD by MechanizedLife
• Entries must be submitted to the FilterCam Flickr Group
• Entries must include the tag “FILTERCAM CONTEST”
• Post-processing is permitted, but should be used sparingly as the idea behind the FilterCam HUD is to create beautiful in-world snapshots that do not require extensive post work.
• A descripton of the filter/mask used and any post-processing applied should be included in the photo description.
• You may use any of the filters/masks included with the FilterCam HUD or you may create and use filters/masks of your own design.
• You may submit up to 3 entries.
• Entries can be submitted through 12:00am SLT on Sunday, 28 February 2010, at which time judging will begin.  Late entries will not be considered.
• Winners will be announced on Monday, 1 March 2010 at 5pm SLT and prizes will be distributed at that time.
