Lately, I’m obsessed with SL Daily Deals. And, tomorrow’s offering is no exception. I’m on a bit of a boho kick, so when my good friend Rosie Barthelmess of Sable Rose Jewelry gave me a sneak peek of her SLDD items…I literally squealed with excitement. Isn’t this a gorgeous set?
So, here are all the details. The set I’m wearing in this photo is Rosie’s latest creation, which debuts tomorrow as part of SLDD, Boho Birdie. Accented with peacock feathers and turquoise, the set includes a necklace, earrings and three bracelet options. She’s also including her Isadora set and the Jael-Azure set, both with necklace, earrings and bracelets AND her brand new Patchwork bangles. You get all 4 sets for ONLY L$250!! That’s a huge discount off regular price, but you have to hurry! The SLDD event starts at 6am SLT and there are only 100 available at that price. Boho Birdie and Patchwork will be available at regular price after the event. So, set your alarms and hurry over to Sable Rose for this extraordinary deal!
SL Daily Deals features one content creator each day who offers a limited quantity of a select item at a discounted price and there are so many good deals to be had. But, you have to be quick as these specials often sell out. Check the SLDD website everyday to see what goodies are available!
You already know that I am a huge fan of the FilterCam HUD by MechanizedLife. I love anything that makes my life easier, and the FilterCam does just that by eliminating the need for post-processing my photos. Considering my very limited Photoshop skills, this tool is invaluable to me. This is a photo I took earlier this week and uploaded directly from in-world. I didn’t even have to crop it. All of the effects were provided by FilterCam and Windlight. What could be easier?
Now, we want to see how YOU use the FilterCam HUD, and we’re giving you some incentive. MechanizedLife is holding a FilterCam Photo Competition with support from the makers of the Avimote PoseMaker HUD. The prize packages total more than L$15,000 and everything you need to know to enter is listed below. Just be sure to get your entries in before the end of the month. And please, don’t hesitate to leave a comment here or drop me an IM in-world if you have any questions! Good Luck!

The Avimote PoseMaker HUD allows Second Life residents to pose their avatars in any position they like, right where they are, without the need for external tools. It can be used to override part of an existing pose, such as when a hand is stuck in a skirt, or to create complete new poses.
Do you follow SL Daily Deals? You should! Each day, one creator will set aside a limited quantity of a select item at a discounted price and there are so many good deals to be had. But, you have to be quick as these specials often sell out.
Beginning at Midnight SLT and running all day on Wednesday, January 20, you can pick up the FilterCam HUD by MechanizedLife less than half price! But don’t wait, there are only 100 available at this price and they will go fast!
The FilterCam HUD is a great little gadget that allows you to add filters, masks, frames, tints and effects to your inworld snapshots…with no post-processing. I’ll post a couple of example photos here and you can find more on the FilterCam Flickr Group stream. Watch SLDD and head over to MechanizedLife for your FilterCam! Jori Watler has always been a great friend to Codie and I. She is, simply, family. So, when she offered to create an exclusive Rouge version of her gorgeous “Dream” Ensemble, we were over-the-moon excited, but not at all surprised by her generosity. The “Dream” Rouge Ensemble includes necklace, rings, cuffs – and as an added incentive – the matching earrings. The only place this set is available is at the Rouge Boutique and 50% of the proceeds benefit the Rouge Tiers fund.
The Rouge sim is owned by CodeBastard Redgrave and was designed and built by Eshi Otawara. Rouge is home to the CodeRed Lounge, Boudoir Rouge Gallery Walk, Rouge Boutique and the Mechanized Life main store.
Designers, interested in the Rouge Affiliate Program? Contact me for more information about offering your items in the Rouge Boutique. Many thanks to Jori for her continued friendship and patronage. Visit ala Mood for more of Jori’s amazing designs.

Adam Soler opened Lookr in 2007 and his designs ranged from formal to casual and everything in between. Fayne Khandr joined the label in 2008 and their success as designers and content creators continued. Somewhere along the way, their real life work experience led them to the decision to change directions a bit. As mentioned in the notecard received from Fayne over the weekend, they decided it was better to excel at one thing than to be “quite good” at many. Behold the new Lookr.
From this point forward, Adam and Fayne will showcase their talents by focusing on male and female tees and tops, which will feature their own artwork. Their designs are interesting, witty and stylish. No crude slogans here. But you will find a bit of sass combined with urban art and, in my never-to-be-humble opinion, even the fussiest fashionista/o will be hard pressed to walk out without snatching up everything in the store.
But, wait! That’s not all! With the reopening of Lookr, Fayne and Adam will be donating 15% of their sales to charity. They’ve chosen to support the A21 Campaign, an organization dedicated to the abolishment of human trafficking. After reading the information on the A21 website, and finding myself appalled by the atrocities and broad reach of this issue, I implore you to do whatever you can to support their efforts.
And, still, there’s more. Lookr has also set up an online store, where you can purchase their designs for both your second life AND your first life avatar. According to Fayne, the tops are high quality, comfortable, and wash very well!
Yes, there’s even MORE! Each shirt that you buy for your avatar is available in two layering configurations, a complete jacket or a shirt/underpant (where appropriate) layer combo. So, you get 2 shirts for L$100 (no, that’s not a typo, all shirts are priced at L$100) . AND you will also receive a gift wrapped copy of your purchase for gifting to a friend or your alt erm, other friend. If we do the math, that’s FOUR shirts for L$100 and you’re contributing to a worthy cause. Guilt-free shopping at its finest, no?
After the jump, you’ll find some Lookr Q&A provided by Adam and Fayne, and my style notes. And I want you to read that part too, I really do, but first, I want you to RUN to Lookr and buy out the store! Oh, and check out my new hair, it’s from Aemilia Case’s new brand, Fusemelon! Hit her up in-world, also, k?

Java Moonwall has been in and out of SL for a few years and, recently, has turned her attention to furniture. Through her store, The Outlets, Java offers high-quality, low-prim furniture with animations that are realistic and full of warmth. Beds are outfitted with the MLPV animation system and are priced at L$2500. These sets, like the Coffee and Cream bedroom suit shown above, are very well-made and nicely textured. Java also uses a combination of animations in her other furniture offerings. Individual pieces range in price from L$600 to L$850. The Red Dragon set shown here features a sofa and massage table with MLPV and complimentary pieces use poses and animations from Pillow Talk and Sissy Animations.
From now through October 3, The Outlets is hosting a Hide & Seek sale. Five pieces have been significantly marked down and one Free item is hiding in the store. Visit The Outlets to take advantage of this sale and for all of your home decor needs.
Sanura Snowpaw has experienced first hand the heartbreak Brain Cancer can cause. She and her RL family lost a loved one to this devastating disease. For one day, join Sanura in an effort to raise Brain Cancer awareness, and perhaps a few funds, by dressing in Gray today. Several retailers have joined in the cause and marked a few pieces, gray ones of course, with all proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society.
Whether or not you choose to make a donation is entirely up to you, but please take a moment to choose today’s look with a little extra care that you, too, might help put the spotlight, just for one day, on another malicious member of the Cancer family.
Read more on Sanura’s blog, here.
Also, Stacia Villota, an amazing little Neko blogger whom I adore, has also listed a few stores with participating items. You can read about them, here.
As for my gray look…it’s coming. I promise.
Happy Friday,
Gabby
