I meant to do this challenge from Myatala a while ago, but completely forgot until I saw Rik and Rox’s posts this morning. So, here is the place I call home in SL…well, one of them, anyway.

When I log in, or teleport home, I land on the steps of this lovely Japanese tea house from Chi, outfitted with some lamps and simple sofas from Hosoi Ichiba.
Look off to the right and you will see another tea house with a cooking fire and low seating surrounded by cherry blossom trees and flowering water lilies.

When Codie and I were designing this island, we only knew that we wanted something peaceful and relaxing, we chose a Japanese tea garden theme and made a query on Plurk looking for someone to help with transforming this bit of sand in the middle of the United Sailing Sims. Saiyge Lotus, the incredibly gifted artist, designer and builder behind Oubliette and Balderdash, came to our aid and, as if by magic, created this beautiful space for us. Placing the houses on stilts above the water, creating waterfalls and using every Sakura tree I could get my hands on to build a quiet, intimate retreat…it was as if she read our minds and brought our vision to life.

The third tea house, to the right, is from 3B Designs and was suggested to us by Ryker Beck. It came complete with a tea set, sushi and seating for four and is where we often find ourselves visiting with friends who stop by to visit.
So, that’s my home, our little retreat when we want to get away from Rouge for a little bit. Feel free to stop by!

It’s a beautiful place to call home, I saw it briefly when I was out there a while back, but will have to come back for the full tour!
What a beautiful home! Will be visiting soon with Loaf.
How incredibly lovely. You’re so lucky to be able to call that your virtual home.
Thanks so much for the comments!
@Loaf – It was so nice to spend some time talking with you during your visit. If I remember correctly, I was supposed to be distracting you and you ended up helping me to make sense of alot of things going on in my life…So, thank you! I look forward to our next visit.
@Rox – Yes, please, come anytime you’d like. There is a swim ball just past the Mahjhongg table, so pretend it isn’t bitterly cold outside and explore by water!
@Arcadia – I can’t wait to show you around! Perhaps you’ll feel inspired to break from your usual gothiness again! There’s lots of pink to put you in the mood!
xoxo
Lovely digs, Gabby! And I love Mahjong!
